Floridians have come to expect them as surely as Northerners expect the first falling snow: winter houseguests. First consideration went to family members, says builder Charles Garrett. "The family is somewhat scattered around, and they needed a place where they could all come together and say good morning once in a while." Sensitive to the privacy of the young people, architect Harry Howle made two of the main house's three guest bedrooms accessible only from the courtyard loggia. For business guests, the two-bedroom cabana, with its small kitchen, offers even more independence.
